my cousin recently baked dog treats for her pup,
& i thought that this could be a great project for the kids.
i found a recipe that i had used as christmas gifts several years ago,
from stella to her "cousins."

i found a recipe that i had used as christmas gifts several years ago,
from stella to her "cousins."
this is a quick, simple recipe - also used by sugar laws & brown eyed baker.
ingredients:
2 cups flour (non-bleached or whole wheat is best)
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup milk (skim or 1% is best)
1 cup peanut butter
pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
combine flour & baking powder in a bowl.
in a separate bowl, mix milk and peanut butter until pretty smooth.
i found that melting the peanut butter for about 20 seconds in the microwave
makes it much easier to stir into the milk.
makes it much easier to stir into the milk.
add the milk/peanut butter mixture to the flour/baking powder - mix well.
chill dough for about 10 minutes in the fridge or freezer.
roll dough out between two pieces of wax paper (or on a lightly floured surface) to about 1/4 inch thickness. use cookie cutters or just cut into pieces with a knife.
place on baking sheet (either greased or lined with foil)
& bake 17-20 minutes (until lightly browned).
cool on cookie racks. store in airtight container or freeze.
the kids had a great time cutting out these "cookies" for their furry friends ...
... & the dogs were very pleased as well!
"can i pretty please have one more?"
